The 1952–53 NBA season was the Pistons' fifth season in the NBA and 12th season as a franchise.[1]

The Pistons finished the season above .500 at 36-33 (.522), 3rd in the Western Division. The team advanced to the playoffs, defeating the

NBA and Major League Baseball.[3][4]
