In August 2020, Ernst won the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, for her second LPGA Tour title. In the final round, she shot 8-under 63 for a two-stroke victory over Anna Nordqvist.[3]

Ernst announced her "semi-retirement" from tournament play in June 2023 due to a lingering neck injury. Her last LPGA Tour event was the 2023 Women's PGA Championship, where she had to withdraw after the first round. She also accepted an assistant coaching position at Texas A&M University.[4]
