Carrollwood Day School, otherwise known as CDS, is a non-sectarian, co-educational, independent day school for students, from age two through high school in Tampa, Florida.

Its curriculum follows the guidelines established by the International Baccalaureate Organization. CDS was the sixth school in the US authorized to offer all three levels of the IB program.

Between 2015 and 2017, CDS hosted the Tedx Carrollwood Event.

STEM Academics

Instead of following the STEM model, CDS focuses on science, technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, and technology.

Character Re-education

CDS focus is on re-educating their students' characters through a 3-step process, following the IB Learner Profile and the IB Attitudes. In the first step, students will learn and apply important life skills, which will build their self-esteem and lead to greater success in and out of school. In the second step, students experience a safe classroom environment where they are free to share personal experiences and perspectives. In the third and final step, students are educated to develop an understanding that other people with their differences can also be right.

CDS also facilitates proper peer interaction through a “learning community” using a school-wide “essential agreement”. It provides a highly conducive environment for optimum learning. The components of the CDS Essential Agreement are listening attentively, mutual respect, appreciation (no put-downs), and right to pass (used for non-academic discussions only).
