NB: secundo le mytho, Achaeo, Ione, Doro e Aeolo descendeba directamente de Helleno. Magnete, Macedone, Graeco, Aetolo e Eleo descendeba de le sorores de Helleno. Locro era le capite del Leleges, le saxos jectate per Deucalione e transformate in homines. Arcade era considerate "autochthono", generate per la terra. Secundo un canone posterior, describite per Strabo (VIII, 1), tote le tribos grec extra le Doric e le Ionic (e, presumibilmente, le Macedone) era gruppate como "Aeolic". Iste mappa non representa le classification moderne del dialectos grec antique, ma la perception proprie del Grecos antique e le identitates tribal attestate realmente in le Grecia antique. English: This map represents the major tribes in which the archaic and classical Greeks divided themselves, according to the mythic genealogy of Deucalion presented in the Catalogue of Women by pseudo-Hesiod (6th c. BC). NB: according to the myth, Achaeus, Ion, Dorus and Aeolus descended directly from Hellen. Magnetes, Macedon, Graecus, Aetolus, and Eleius, on the other hand, descended from the sisters of Hellen. Locrus was the leader of the Leleges, the rocks thrown by Deucalion which turned human. Arcas was considered "autochthon", generated by the earth. According to a later standard described by Strabo (VIII, 1), all tribes other than the Dorian and the Ionian (and, presumably, the Macedonian) were grouped as "Aeolian". This map does not represent the modern classification of Ancient Greek dialects, but the ancient Greeks' self-perception and actual tribal identities attested in Ancient Greece. |
