Deutsch: Dünengebiet und Wasserturm der ostfriesischen Insel Langeoog. Der im Jahre 1909 errichtete Wasserturm gilt als Wahrzeichen der Insel. Die bis zu 20 Meter hohen Dünen der Insel bilden einen natürlichen Strandschutz. Dadurch ist Langeoog die einzige der ostfriesischen Inseln, die ohne seeseitige Küstenschutzbauwerke auskommt.
Simple English: Dune area and water tower of the East Frisian island Langeoog. Built in 1909, the water tower is considered the landmark of the island. The up to 20 meters high dunes of the island are a natural beach protection. This makes Langeoog the only East Frisian island that manages without seafront coastal protection structures. |
