| Description |
Deutsch: Die Münzprägeanstalt von Hessen-Darmstadt wurde 1618 durch Landgraf Ludwig V. begründet, die Münzen trugen von 1871 bis 1881 den Buchstaben H als Münzzeichen. Die Münze Darmstadt wurde 1882 geschlossen. Der klassizistisch-schlichten Neubau, von Georg Moller entworfen und von 1831 bis 1833 errichtet, am Mathildenplatz 12, galt als vorbildlich für eine Münze dieser Jahre. Im Erdgeschoss des Gebäudes lagen links die große und kleine Präge, rechts befanden sich die Silberkammer und das Laboratorium. Beachte die Straßenbahnschienen. |
