Like the earlier 1952-54 US Fords, the newer shape 1955-56 Fords were also assembled and sold in Australia, models available in Australia were: the V8 Customline, a 4 door sedan and the V8 Mainline, a coupe utility, the ute, Australias own design, used the chassis of the US 2 door convertible. A limited number of Customline wagons were also built.
When the US got a new shape in 1957, Australian built cars continued on with the 55-56 shape until 1959, with minor facelifts each year.

The 1957 model featured a large V8 badge in the grille.
The 1958/59 model used the 1955 Canadian Meteor grille with a four-pointed star and 1956 Meteor side trim, this, the final series, known as the Star model was available in two models, the Customline and the Fordomatic.
Engines; From 1955-57 162hp 272 Y block V8 and from 1958, 193hp 292 Y block V8.
Models in the US were; the base Mainline, mid Customline and top Fairlane, which included the Sunliner Convertible, Victoria Hardtop, Crown Victoria Hardtop and Ranch and Country Wagons.
