• This is the floor plan of the Hindu temple in Deogarh, also spelled Devgarh, in the Betwa River valley at the border of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

• The temple is from the Gupta Empire era, and generally dated around 500 CE to early 6th-century. It is one of the earliest Hindu stone temples still surviving today. Prior temples were built from bricks or wood or combinations thereof, and those have not survived.

• The temple's architectural plan is a simple, one cell square, follows the square and circle principle found in historic Sanskrit texts.

• The relative scale and relative dimensions in this architectural drawing are close to the actual but neither exact nor complete.
