Summary

Description
English: summarize all the laws and commands in Scripture. Jesus was asked this very question by a Pharisee who was considered to be “an expert in the law” (Matthew 22:34–36). Jesus answered by saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37–40).

Icon text is in Aramaic (Syriac) Language, Serto Scripture. There exists a consensus among scholars that the language of Jesus and his disciples was Aramaic. Aramaic was the common language of Judea in the first century AD. The villages of Nazareth and Capernaum in Galilee, where Jesus spent most of his time, were Aramaic-speaking communities.

Jesus said to him, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your power, and with all your mind.

And the second is like to it, Love your neighbor as yourself.
