For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Stöhr 29.6.1960 We-Noa. 24 000 to Wasserverdrängung....hat das Walfangmutterschiff "Jurij Dolgoruky", das auf der Warnow-Werft in Warnemünde für die Sowjetunion umgebaut wurde. Die hochmoderne Einrichtung des Schiffes gestattet Fangreisen von 4 - 7 Monaten in nördlichen Gewässern. Zur Ausrüstung gehört u.a. eine Startanlage für Hubschrauber. 60 Wale können in 24 Stunden auf dem Schiff verarbeitet werden. Nachdem die Probefahrt mit Erfolg beendet wurde, wird das Schiff in den nächsten Tagen an die Sowjetunion übergeben werden." |
