Description
English: A bust of an unknown citizen in the realist republican tradition.

The bust has previously been thought to be Emperor Galba and alternatively as Lucius Calpurnius Piso or Crassus, however these identifications remain speculative and debatable. The academic consensus is that the date is late Republican (1st C. BC).

The bust is in the Louvre collection and the catalogue entry states:

Français :
Inconnu
Environs de l'ère chrétienne
Marbre
H. : 26 cm.
