Description
English: The Castle of São Jorge occupies a commanding position overlooking the city of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, and the Tagus River beyond. The fortified citadel, which dates from medieval times, is located atop the highest hill in the historic center of the city. The castle is one of the main historical and touristic sites of Lisbon.
Nederlands: Het kasteel van São Jorge bevindt zich bovenop de hoogste heuvel in het centrum van de stad Lissabon, de hoofdstad van Portugal. Het kijkt uit over de stad zelf en de rivier de Taag. Deze versterkte citadel, welke uit de Middeleeuwen stamt, is één van de belangrijkste historische en toeristische attracties in Lissabon.
