Description
English: Charles A. Gibson was born in Cambridge, Ohio. His family moved to Columbus, where he graduated from North High School. His wife, Fay Dodds, was from Marietta, Ohio. Their daughter, Catherine, was a member of the first graduating class of the Upper Arlington High School in 1925. Charles Gibson was very active in the early development of Upper Arlington. He acted as a deputy marshal, served on the committee to select land for the first schoolhouse, and was a member of the charter commission for the village. Along with fellow Arlington resident Paul Spence, Mr. Gibson owned the Gibson-Spence Coal Company. The Gibson home was located at 1890 Tremont Road.
