English: The entrance of the cave locally known as the Devil’s Cave (cueva del diablo) at Metepec Hill, a small mountain in the middle of the town also called Metepec. Locals talk about fantastic legends involving the cave, including treasures, missing persons, and strange apparitions. The mountain and the town have existed for thousands of years, and magical elements have been reported ever since, not only at the mountain but also in the surrounding lakes (involving mermaids). Today, the area has become part of the Toluca metropolitan area, and easy access to its international airport has made Metepec a growing tourist destination for its colonial architecture.
