Summary

Description

The Palestinians in Gaza call the situation The Great Right of Return March. They want to return to their homeland which was taken from them beginning 70 years ago in what they refer to as 'The Nakba' or catastrophe. Zionist forces drove them off of their land in Palestine killing thousands and turning thousands more into permanent refugees.

Today, the Gaza Strip is the world's largest open air prison. Two million people live a precarious and extremely dangerous existence there. Israel controls everything they do. Israel controls all access to the strip including air, land and seat routes. Unemployment levels are around 60% of able bodied males. Israel allows but four hours of electricity per day. The situation is comparable to that of the Warsaw Ghetto during World War Two.

So the people are marching towards the border wall that encloses them. Israeli snipers routinely shoot women, children, members of the press wearing identifying vests, nurses trying to help the wounded, even an 8 month old child. The snipers use bullets that explode on contact with human flesh and bone. In Israel this is called ' Mowing the Lawn '.

Israel says these unarmed people are just 'terrorists'.provoked by the resistance organization called Hamas..

Yet still these people march towards the border wall. They want their freedom and to live with dignity and opportunity again. So far around 123 people have been shot dead and hundreds more wounded.
