English: Epithelial cell casts can be seen in conditions such as acute tubular necrosis (ATN), which is often caused by ischemia (lack of blood flow) or nephrotoxic substances damaging the renal tubules. Other potential causes include glomerulonephritis, interstitial nephritis, and severe urinary tract infections.
