Summary

Description
English: German soldiers, some with flowers others waving or raising their clenched fists, in a railroad car on the way to the front during early World War I (1914). Messages on the car spell out (approximately): "Trip to Paris", "See you later on the Boulevard", "[obscured by flowers] the fight" (The obscured part most likely reads "Auf in [den Kampf]" which means "Into battle"), "my sword tip is itching".
Date 1914, presumedly after the German declaration of war with France so sometime in August at the least.
