English: "Cross-and-crosslets" penny minted under Henry II of England. Description (p. 87): "The type of his first coinage is the king's bust with nearly a full face, holding a sceptre in his right hand. Rev. cross potent with a small cross in each angle. He is styled HENRI R. RE REX A. AN ANGL." The moneyer was Alwin, London mint. (ALWIN ON LUND).

No. 1340 in Seaby's Coin and Medal Bulletin: "Alwin Plantagenets, Henry II, AR Long Cross Penny, 1.14 gr. 1158-1180 AD. Moneyer Alwin, London mint. +HEN..., Crowned bust facing, with sceptre / +AL[ ]ON:LVN, short cross and crosslets. Seaby 1340-1341; N. 958-960." (wildwinds.com)
