English: "Transverse T1-weighted (upper slice) and STIR image (bottom slice) of the thighs of patients with inclusion body myositis. Upper row: note the fatty infiltration (areas of increased signal) predominantly of the anterior muscles of the thigh. Bottom row: note the areas of high signal in the right thigh (also in the anterior muscles), indicating muscle oedema (inflammation)."
