38 J. E. EATEKIIS^ i& SON'S AlS^NtJAL SEED CATALOG. Burpee's B\ISK Lima The bushes grow eighteen to twenty ^ iLChes, of stout growth and always erect, yet brancbiag so vigorously that each plant develops Into a magQiticeut cir- cular ba^h from two to three feet ia diameter. Eaormously productive, single plants under favorable c rcumstances yielding from 200 to 350 pods. Hand- some large pods well filled with very large beans, identical in size and luscious flavor with the well known large p >le L'mj,s. Pkt. oj; pt. 25c; qt. 45c. Pole or Running Beans Lazy Wife's No good wife would like 10 be called "a lazy wife," yet she will be excused for exhibiting a lazy spell when bean picking time comes, if she has the foresight to plant; This variety. They are called Lazy Wivts because they hang so full atid ihe pods are so long and br( ad that a mess is soon picked. The pjds are ^reen, \vo» derfully bnad. thick, fleshy and ectrely stririgless, retaining all their gnod q alitiCS until nearly lipe. The peculiar tasie and agrceahle flavor of tnis i)ean are so captivating that other varietit sare not desired while the Lazy Wives can be obtained. Pint 25c; quari 45c. Improved Golden Wa.x In spite of all the new sorts of beans being introduced every year, our trade calls for more Golden Wax than any other variety. Th*s great oopuladty is due largely to the fact Lhat the variety we have is a great tnp^ovement on the old Golden Wdx, having larger pods and being much more prolific. Thisimprovtd >tLck is one of the hand^omest beans we have ever jrcen, the puds being of dark, rich golden yellow color and of perfect shape. For family or market you can make no mistake in planting them. Pkt. 5c; pint 25c; quart 45c. Kidney Wa^x Week earlier and vield one-third more than Golden Wax, stalk erect, pods long, broad, flat, brittle, string- less, delicate waxy color, seed white with a reddish purple spot. Pint 25c: quart 45c. Davis W Kite WolX a distinct new dwarf wax bean, popular in the family garden. It is the best white •seeded wax bean, of handsome appearance and very productive. It is so pro- ductive that the vines are absolutely a mass of prds; it holds its pods well up from the ground; the pods are always full of large, plump beans; being pure white, with no eye, it is just what the t)ean pinners l^v^ beeq loQkirg for.
