Summary

Description
English: Lupra is a traditional village hidden in the Panda Khola gorges between Kagbeni and Jomsom. Far from trekking trails, the village of Lupra is managed to maintain much of its charm intact as well as part of its pre-Buddhist shamanistic belief, Bön religion. The village is made of tightly packed traditional houses Thakali (ethnolinguistic group originated from the Thak Khola region in Mustang). The walls are made of adobe and cobble coming form the rivers around. The coatings are composed of pigmented soil from nearby cliffs. There is a perfect harmony between habitat and the natural environment. Rural village life is very little affected by the turmoil of the modern world.
