Summary

Description
English: Main metabolic routes of MDMA (3,4-methyl​enedioxy​methamphetamine) racemic (R- and S-isomers = RS-) in humans. The most important cytochrome P450 enzymes enzymes are CYP2B6 and CYP2D6, less important enzymes are in brackets (e.g. CYP1A2). MDA route is a minor pathway.
  • MDA: 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine
  • HHA: 3,4-dihydroxyamphetamine
  • HMA: 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyamphetamine
  • HHMA: 3,4-dihydroxymethamphetamine
  • HMMA: 4-hydroxy-3-methoxymethamphetamine
  • COMT: catechol-O-methyltransferase
