Summary

Description
English: Constellation of Gemini with the planets Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn on December 26, 1503. On that day, -1.4 mag bright Mars stood in opposition to the Sun and in conjunction with -0.4 mag bright Saturn, while -2.7 mag bright Jupiter was situated just a few degrees west of the ringed planet.

During the period of opposition in 1503, there was a triple conjunction between Mars and Jupiter, with the encounters taking place on October 5, 1503, January 19, 1504 and February 8, 1504, and a triple conjunction of Mars and Saturn, whereby the two planets meet each other on October 14, 1503, December 26, 1503 and March 7, 1504.

Jupiter and Saturn were in conjunction on May 24, 1504. Hereby their mutual angular distance was 19 arcminutes.

The ecliptic and some important right ascension and declination lines are also shown on the star map. As right ascension and declination of this map refer to the epoch 1503, the shown right acension and declination lines differ from the corresponding lines used on nearly all modern star maps.
