Photo (photographer unknown), trimmed from one of the few known photographs of Morojo and Forrest J Ackerman in the "futuristicostumes" she designed and made herself. This was at the 1st World Science Fiction Convention, in New York CIty in 1939; and is generally acknowledged as the origin of what is now known as cosplay
