Summary

Description
English: Artwork depicting a scene in the Book of Mormon, Moroni receiving the plates (which contain the record of Nephite history) from his father Mormon. The figure on the left wears armor, including a crested helmet and breastplate, and has a beard. He also wears a red-orange skirt and brown boots. Next to his feet is a broadsword. He kneels against a heap of stones, or perhaps a crude wall. He carries in his hands a gold-colored brick-shaped object: the engraven plates of the Nephite record, as described in the Book of Mormon. The figure on the right also wears a breastplate. He has a white bandage over his head with a red splotch, suggesting bleeding from a head wound. He has his arms and hands slightly raised, toward the figure on the right. He stands in what seems to be a slightly dug out cave in an otherwise grassy hillside.
Date Created c. 1871-1875
