Description
English: A map of Europe showing the proportion of the population affiliating themselves with the national ethnic group of their respective nation state (e.g., Swedes in Sweden, Germans in Germany, or Poles in Poland).

Please note that due to non-uniform classification and data collection methods, the following countries values represent slightly different data:

  • France: represents a 2004 estimate by Institut Montaigne; the Government does not collect data on race or ethnic origin
  • Switzerland: represents the percent of non-foreign residents
  • Faroe Islands: Percent of the population born in the Faroe Islands
  • Greenland: Percent of the population born in Greenland

While not labeled, additional data is available for disputed (unrecognized or partially recognized) states:

  • Crimea: 15.1% (Ukrainians)
  • Donbas (Donetsk People's Republic & Luhansk People's Republic): 57.45% (Ukrainians) [1]
  • Kosovo: 4% (Serbians)
  • Transnistria: 28.6% (Moldovans)
