| Description |
English: North Yard of Devonport Dockyard. The view is from the Torpoint ferry. There is quite a lot of activity within the north yard of the dockyard. HMS Danae (F47) is moored next to the type 21 frigate HMS Avenger (F185). To the right within the drydock is a Leander class exocet conversion frigate. In the middle distance are two naval tugs moored next to HMS Anglesey (P277), an Island class patrol vessel. To the left in the far distance, beneath the yellow crane, can be seen the island of HMS Hermes (R12), a Centaur class strike carrier. At the time she was undergoing refit prior to transfer to the Indian navy, as INS Viraat. A humid misty summer's day. |
