DescriptionNortown casitas 3m ppd with 3mfbmortar.jpg
Topside and underside of plastic and copper pipe firestops. Here, the smaller plastic pipes penetrate a 4" (10cm) diameter hole in a fire-resistance rated concrete floor. The plastic pipe requires an intumescent collar because it melts and burns away in a fire. The collar chokes it off. The remaining gap between the concrete and the collar is filled with 3M Fire Barrier Mortar.
