Description
English: St Illtud's Church – the chancel, Caldey Island This is the church attached to the Old Priory. The chancel seen here is probably the oldest part of the church. Its ceiling is a pointed-arch vault. The dedication to St Illtud was made in 1897, when the church was restored. He lived from c. 450 to c. 535, and founded a monastery at Llantwit Major.
