The Stevenson House in Bloomington (1900). It was the boyhood home of Adlai E. Stevenson II. Stevenson attended Bloomington High School and University High School. His father, Lewis Green Stevenson, was the Illinois Secretary of State from 1914-17. He married the granddaughter of Jesse W. Fell, a close friend of Abraham Lincoln and a founder of Illinois State University, thus enhancing the Stevenson family's political clout.
