Deutsch: Eine Alraunenernte aus dem Kodex Tacuinum sanitatis in medicina (Cod. Vindob. ser. nov. 2644, ca. 1390) zu einem Text des orientalischen Arztes Ibn Butlan. Der Maler hatte offensichtlich Schwierigkeiten, den Bewegungsablauf korrekt darzustellen: Da die Wurzel beim Ernten nach altem Aberglauben einen tödlichen Schrei ausstößt, sollte ein Hund dazu verwendet werden. Der Wurzelgräber bindet ihm einen um die Pflanze geschlungenen Strick um den Hals und stellt etwas weiter weg eine Schüssel Wasser hin. Läuft der Hund nun auf die Schüssel zu, reißt er die Wurzel aus dem Boden
