DescriptionThe church of SS Peter and Paul in Wangford - memorial - geograph.org.uk - 2078317.jpg | Monument to Sir John Rous, 2nd Baronet (c. 1656–1730) of Henham Hall, Wangford, Suffolk. He married twice: firstly to Philippa Bedingfield, a daughter of Thomas Bedingfield of Darsham, Suffolk; secondly to Anne Wood, a daughter of Robert Wood of Islington, Middlesex. (see inscription, better image[1]). Arms: dexter/left: Rous impaling Bedingfield; Sinister/right: Rous impaling Wood (Argent, a wolf passant sable a chief gules) (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.1130 "Wood of Islington, Middlesex, granted 1606"). |
