English: Mayland ("Milan"). Heraldic shield declaring the Visconti ancestry of w:Marie of Baden-Sponheim (1507-1580), a daughter of Philip I, Margrave of Baden (1479–1533) and Countess Elisabeth (1483–1522), daughter of Philip, Elector Palatine and princess Margarete von Bayern-Landshut. She married William IV, Duke of Bavaria (1493–1550). Through her maternal grandmother she was descended from w:Maddalena Visconti (1366-1404), one of the many daughters of w:Bernabò Visconti, w:Lord of Milan, and his wife Beatrice Regina della Scala.
