Summary

Description
English: Tirefour Castle, Isle of Lismore. The ruins of a broch (a fortified tower) from the first century AD stand above the coast on the Isle of Lismore. The island's name means 'Great Garden' in Gaelic: its limestone rocks make it more fertile than the surrounding area, so it was good place for early settlers.
