- Die Klaus-Groth-Schule entstand aus der Tornescher Realschule, die in den 1970er Jahren gegründet worden war. 2001 fiel die Entscheidung, die Realschule auslaufen zu lassen und eine Kooperative Gesamtschule (KGS) zu gründen. Im Schuljahr 2003/04 wurden die ersten Schüler in der neuen Schulform unterrichtet, zunächst in den alten Realschulgebäuden. - In mehrjähriger Bauzeit entstand ein Neubau für ca. 26 Millionen Euro. 2007 wurde das neue Schulgebäude eingeweiht, zwei Jahre später wurde der Sporthalle fertiggestellt. - The Klaus Groth School originated from the Tornescher Realschule, which was founded in the 1970s. In 2001, the decision was made to phase out Realschule and establish a cooperative comprehensive school (KGS). In the school year 2003/04, the first pupils were taught in the new school form, initially in the old Realschule buildings. - In a perennial construction period a new building was erased for about 26 million Euros. In 2007 the new school building was inaugurated and two years later the sports hall was completed. Since 2010, the new name was “Gemeinschaftsschule mit gymnasialer Oberstufe“ (community school with gymnasium upper school).
