The Westfield clock tower as it is being delivered for installation as part of the nearby MassDOT Great River Bridge Project, which includes a new 3 lane bridge over the Westfield River, rehabilitation of the existing 3-lane bridge, replacement of a railroad viaduct, and construction of park areas. The new truss bridge is now open to traffic and the existing bridge is under reconstruction. The clock tower is 55 feet tall. Westfield is funding the $500,000 cost of the tower. The clock will include movable parts and plays dozens of musical tunes. |
