| Description |
English: The White Stag Sign, in Portland, Oregon, showing the wording it began displaying in late November 2010. The appearance of the central text portion changes every few seconds, going from blank (dark) to showing just "Portland" in neon, then adding "Oregon" in neon, and lastly adding incandescent bulbs (which pulsate) within the "Portland, Oregon" letters, before going dark again, and then starting the sequence again. The neon stag, "Old Town" and outline of the state of Oregon remain illuminated at all times. The 1940-built sign was designated a Portland landmark by the city's Historic Landmarks Commission in 1977. |
