English: 1936 photograph of Arkansan Confederate veteran William M. Cantrell (about 88; 1847–1937) with his wife Maudie (about 21; 1914–2008), later Maudie Hopkins. Maudie Hopkins was one of the few Civil War widows to survive into the 21st century.
