English: Ahmad bin Yahya Hamidaddin (1891 – 18 September 1962) was the penultimate king of the Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen from 1948 to 1962. His full name and title was H.M. al-Nasir-li-din Allah Ahmad bin al-Mutawakkil 'Ala Allah Yahya, Imam and Commander of the Faithful, and King of the Mutawakkilite Kingdom of the Yemen. Ahmad was considered to be a despot, and his main focus was on modernising the military.
العربية: الامام أحمد بن يحيى حميدالدين بن محمد بن يحيى حميدالدين: إمام اليمن المشهور، ولد في الأهنوم، وعاش طفولته في كنف جده محمد بن يحيى المتوفي في 1322 هـ / 1904م. درس وتتلمذ على يد علماء مشهورين في شهارة وغيرها التي تولى أمرها حتى انسحب الأتراك من اليمن عقب الحرب العالمية الأولى وقامت المملكة المتوكلية اليمنية، اعتمد عليه أبوه في بعض حروبه لبسط سيطرة اليمن الجديدة وحكمها المركزي، فحارب في حجة والمشرق وفي برط في الشمال والزرانيق في تهامة حتى اشتهر باسم (أحمد يا جناه) واتخذ حجة مقراً له حتى عينه أبوه أميراً على لواء تعز عندما بدأ الاعتماد على أبنائه الذين عرفوا بسيوف الإسلام في حكم البلاد من بعد عام (1357 هـ/ 1937م),وحين انطلقت ثورة الدستور عام 1948م، كان مخطَّطاً أن يُقتل خارج تعز في الوقت نفسه الذي يقتل فيه أبوه في حزيز جنوب صنعاء (7١ فبراير 1948م) ولكنه خادع الكمين، وخرج سراً إلى حجة حيث أعلن الحرب على الثورة وقضى عليها وأعدم زعماءها وسجن الباقين في حجة، وتولى حكم البلاد متخداً لنفسه لقب الناصر لدين الله.

Był najstarszym synem Jahji Muhammada Hamid ud-Dina i jego pierwszej żony Fatimy al-Waszali. Otrzymał domową edukację; w 1918 został gubernatorem Ta'izz, a w 1927 następcą tronu z tytułem Wali Ahad. Przejął władzę po zabójstwie ojca przez buntowników i obaleniu uzurpatora Sajjida Abdullaha al-Wazira.
