Description	Deutsch: Zeichen 440: Vorwegweiser zur Autobahn; Quelle: Bundesgesetzblatt, Jahrgang 1970, Nr. 108, S. 1601. Tag der Ausgabe: Bonn, 5. Dezember 1970. Wie im Verkehrsblatt 22, 1970, S. 789 beschrieben, mußte die Schrifthöhe 210 mm betragen. Die Maße des Schildes sollten sich nach der Schriftgröße richten, die vorgegeben war: „Die Schrifthöhe beträgt 210 mm.“ (Quelle: 1. Amtsblatt für Berlin, 1971, S. 124; 2. Werner Full, Wolfgang Möhl, Karl Rüth: Straßenverkehrsrecht: Kommentar zu Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO) etc. de Gruyter, Berlin, New York 1980, ISBN 3-11-005832-4, S. 705.). Das Zeichen war 150 bis 250 m vor der ersten Rampe der Anschlußstelle aufzustellen.
