This photograph is incorrectly titled. It is NOT a KC-135 from MacDill AFB, FL (there is no such installation as MadDill AFB), either from the active duty Air Force's 6th Air Mobility Wing (6 AMW) or their Air Force Reserve associate unit, the 927th Air Refueling Wing (927 ARW). The 6 AMW and the 927 ARW share the same active duty KC-135 aircraft.

The KC-135 in the photo is actually from the since inactivated 939th Air Refueling Wing (939 ARW) of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) at Portland Air Reserve Station / Portland Int'l Airport, OR. This is evident by two items in the photo. First, the "fin flash" on the vertical stabilizer (i.e., the "tail") of the KC-135 says "AFRC" for Air Force Reserve Command. All KC-135 assigned to MacDill AFB have "AMC" on the tail for Air Mobility Command. Second, the fin flash band says "PORTLAND" versus "MACDILL." 76.29.141.90 (talk) 01:22, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
