Why is the southern Netherlands included in the boundaries of the German states, but not Slesvig in Denmark? 86.166.60.150 (talk) 13:04, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And why is the boundary between Finland and Russia that of 1940/1944 and not that of either 1743 or 1812? --Kuuvalo (talk) 21:48, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The "Southern Netherlands" is the grand duchy of Luxemburg within its 1815 boundaries. Slesvig is included in Denmark and not in the german states, because it was not part of the german confederation according to the congress, unlike Luxemburg, a fact that was reiterated in 1851 after the first war. Do note that Holstein IS in the boundaries of the german states and was, also, ruled by Frederick VI. 216.252.76.143 (talk) 23:12, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
