To be honest, I am not surprised to figure out from the markers of the book of "Pause for Thought", The Red Book is an Illuminated Missal. Nor, am I surprised to learn of manuals of Missal Illumination. Of course, I always knew Catholic Church Books are avaliable in every language, including american. Because, Raphael also paints altarpieces and some of them are still hanging where she left them. And, I see San Miro holding a green book which is probably the same thing in Ambrosian. I was hoping for her story and I found herstory in art gone wrong. Raphael says over and over again, "It is the Child." She even gets the pelican story from one of her sons. If Raphael wrote an autobiography, it is hanging on the walls of famous instututions everywhere in the world. Considering the detail of her paintings, she spent most of her time painting pictures in churches while history flowed around her. Sixteenth century Italy was wilder than america's wild west; guns, horses and damsels in distress. Tho, the interesting conclusion of her story is the Ladies' Peace. Men!

In conclusion then, culture is what our parents taught us and what we taught you, but what has Hollywood taught our children? My kids spent more time in front of the television listing to "He Man" than they did to me, their teachers or the priest. (Yes, I have searched with the safe search off. Eeww.) I knew from the '60's where that thing was always going and fortunately my children did not get involved. Tho, the idea of controlling people remains. Raphael and Jesus' story are just prime examples. The sad fact of life is we are old too soon and smarts too late. Of the thousands of pictures of truth and beauty I have found out there, what picture can I leave you with?
