Fremont Township is a

2010 census, its population was 32,337.^[2]

History

The township was formed about 1849. A number of names were suggested, and eventually the name Fremont was adopted in honor of the western explorer John C. Frémont.^[3]

Geography

Fremont Township covers an area of 35.8 square miles (92.8 km²); of this, 1.7 square miles (4.4 km²) or 4.69 percent is water.^[2] Lakes in this township include Countryside Lake, Davis Lake, Diamond Lake, Lake Fairfield and Schreiber Lake.
