GNA University, located in Phagwara, Punjab, India, is a privately owned institution. It was established in 2014 under Act No. 17 of 2014 by the State Government of Punjab.[1][2][3][4] The university is affiliated with the GNA Group, which is known for its manufacturing of automotive components.[5]

GNA University offers a range of courses in various fields, including design, engineering, management, animation, hotel management and hospitality, computer science, business studies, and physical education. The university received the 'Best University ATC 2017' award from Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) University, USA, during a ceremony held in Thailand.

GNA University provides a wide range of degree and certificate programmes encompassing over 50 disciplines.[6] It offers both post-graduate and graduate courses in areas such as engineering, design, management, animation, computer science, and physical education. Additionally, the university provides diploma and certificate program specifically tailored to the CAD-CAM and engineering fields.

Business School

GNA University established the GNA Business School in 2016, founded by Gurdeep Singh Sihra and Prem Kumar. This business school operates under the Faculty of Business Studies at GNA University.

Tie-Ups

GNA University has established Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and partnerships with reputable organisations. One such MoU has been signed with Cambridge University Press.[7] The university has also entered into an MoU with TimesPro, an initiative by The Times of India, for placement purposes.

Furthermore, GNA University has signed an MoU with La Verne, California, for both short-term and long-term programmes, as well as for faculty and student exchange programmes. Another MoU has been signed with the National Stock Exchange of India Academy to offer management programmes to students. The university has also partnered with LearnVern, an online learning portal.[8] Additionally, GNA University has joined the Oracle Workforce Development Programme (WDP), administered by Oracle University, USA, to equip students with the latest industry trends.[9]

Moreover, GNA University has established a tie-up with Virohan Institute, which offers a BBA course in hospital management to the students.

Events

GNA University organises the Punjab Spell Bee Championship, a state-level competition.[10]

The university also takes the initiative to organise the Punjab Film Festival, the first of its kind in the state, showcasing various films.[11]

In November 2016, GNA University hosted the International Conference on Hospitality and Tourism, which was attended by distinguished individuals from the hospitality and tourism sectors. The event featured the presentation of over 30 research papers.[12]

Furthermore, the university holds an annual sports meet each year.[13]

One of the notable events for the university is the Baisakhi Mela. In 2018, the Baisakhi Mela was celebrated alongside a Coke Studio Minicert on the campus premises, featuring a performance by

Punjabi singer.[14]
