H. Rajesh Prasad

H. Rajesh Prasad ^[1] was an Indian politician who served as the Governor of Lakshadweep from 7 November 2012 to 22 October 2015.

Presently Mr. Prasad is posted as Principal Secretary to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, India, managing the department of Energy.

Mr. Prasad is an IAS Officer ( a premier civil service in India) of 1995 batch borne on the AGMUT (UT) cadre, India, and has held several important positions. notable amongst them are District Magistrate in South Goa, West Kamang District in Arunachal Pradesh, South Delhi and North East Delhi over a period of 8 years. Commissioner, Lands in Delhi Development Authority ( DDA), Commissioner, VAT/GST in Delhi, as Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Delhi, helmed the important Departments such as Urban Development, Education, Higher Education, Technical Education and Training, Public Works Department, Co-operation, Health and Family Welfare, etc.

Education

Mr. Prasad has diverse educational background in subjects such as Commerce, Management, Finance, Public Administration, History, Law etc.

Prasad has completed his graduation in commerce stream and further completed Master of Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.^[2] Master of Public Management from Pondicherry University and LLB from Delhi University.

INTERESTS: Mr. Prasad has keen interest in Indian Civilization - History, Culture & Politics. A speaker on diverse subjects including motivation, Indian civilization, Public Administration, Education etc.

Mr. H. Rajesh Prasad IAS hails from Hiriadka, Udupi District, Karnataka.
