Career
He would lead 32 laps out of the 26,094 that he would contribute to in NASCAR history – the equivalent of 20,371.2 miles (32,784.3 km).[3] Putney's average start was 17th place while his average finish would end up being 15th place.[3] Total earnings for this driver added up to $63,963 ($561,367.89 when adjusted for inflation).[3] One of his notable racing accomplishments outside of NASCAR was his seventh-place finish at the 1967 ARCA 250 Daytona Race in a 1966 Chevrolet machine.[1] Putney mainly drove the #22 Chevrolet machine as a driver/owner in the NASCAR Cup Series.[5]
