Wallace John Challens was born in

Challens took part in most of the
His wife Joan died in 1971. In 1973, he married Norma Lane, who shared his passion for golf.[7] He was captain and president of Basingstoke Golf Club,[4] and became a life member. He died suddenly on the Basingstoke golf course on 1 March 2002.[1]
