Kirix Strata is a free, open source product and is supported on both Microsoft Windows and Linux.

History

Kirix Research is a data analysis software company founded in January 2001.[2] In its early years the company specialized providing data analytic solutions for recovery auditing, including identifying duplicate payments, pricing errors, missed discounts and other overpayment errors in large corporate accounting systems.

In February 2005, Kirix launched Kirix Strata as a new desktop database for Windows and Linux at the

database management system and won the Product Excellence Award in the Best Desktop-Productivity-Business Application category.[3]

In July 2007, Kirix relaunched Strata in

beta as a specialty desktop database for working with data from anywhere. Strata was officially released out of beta in April 2008 with the intention of bringing the simplicity of a spreadsheet to the world of tabular data.[4]
