Krishnarajapuram (officially Krishnarajapura) often abbreviated as K R Puram or K R Pura, is a neighborhood of in North-Eastern
Krishnarajapuram is also the headquarters of the Bangalore East taluk and houses certain central and state government offices. It is also a Karnataka Legislative Assembly constituency. B A Basvaraja of the Bharatiya Janata Party was elected as the Member of Legislative assembly from this constituency in the 2013 Karnataka Assembly election,[1] and re-elected in 2018. The area is also a part of the Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency.

Krishnarajapura has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 71%. In Krishnarajapura, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
